About The Weary

The Weary sits at the end of the Pennines with the fells rising steeply behind the Cumbrian Inn. Perfectly placed to spend a few days visiting the world heritage site – Hadrian’s Wall, local historical sites, Geltsdale RSPB (AONB), the Lake District, Gelt Woods, Talkin Tarn or Historic Carlisle and the Scottish borders. Recognising that people want flexibility, informality and luxury with friendly unobtrusive service, this Hotel in Cumbria appeals to a growing number of people looking for a relaxing escape combined with activities.

Historic photograph of The Weary

From the outside this 18th century Cumbrian Country Inn retains many of the original features, but inside gives way to a tasteful mix of traditional and contemporary, good looking interiors. The wood burning stove set in the recently discovered, original inglenook fire place in the bar lounge, crackles away on cold evenings with the smell pine filtering through the room.
